MathGenie — Terms of Use

BrainBoot Innovations Pvt Ltd · Last updated 15 August 2026

MathGenie is used by children, and the person agreeing to these terms is the parent or guardian. We have written them in plain English so you can read them in a few minutes and know what you are agreeing to.

The short version: MathGenie is a maths practice app for children. It is a learning tool, not a test, a diagnosis, or a substitute for a teacher. Right now every part of it is free. You own your family's data and can delete it at any time. We do not show ads to your child and we do not sell your data.

1. Who we are

BrainBoot Innovations Pvt Ltd, 2nd Floor, Core-1, Pacifica Tech Park, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Navalur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600130, India.

Contact: contact@brainboot.co.in.

In these terms, "we" and "us" means BrainBoot Innovations. "You" means the parent or guardian who creates the account. "Your child" means anyone you set up a learner profile for.

2. What MathGenie is — and what it is not

MathGenie helps a child practise arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the number sense underneath them. It teaches an idea, lets the child practise it, and then checks they can recall it quickly.

Please read this one. MathGenie is not an assessment, a diagnostic tool, or a measure of your child's ability or intelligence. It does not identify learning difficulties, dyscalculia, or any condition. Nothing it shows you is a professional opinion. If you are worried about your child's learning, please talk to their teacher or a qualified professional — not to an app.

We also do not promise that using MathGenie will produce any particular result in school, in an exam, or anywhere else. Children learn at different speeds, and that is normal.

3. Who may use MathGenie

MathGenie is designed for children roughly 5 to 11 years old. A child does not create their own account:

Keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else has got into your account, email us and we will help.

4. Learner profiles and shared devices

MathGenie is built for a shared family phone. Several children can have their own profile on one device, each with their own progress, and switching between them takes two taps and no password.

That is deliberate — it is what makes the app usable by a young child — but it means anyone holding the device can open any profile on it. If that matters to you, treat the device itself as the lock.

5. What it costs right now

Everything in MathGenie is free at the moment. All ten tables and every module are open, with no payment required and no card details asked for.

No payments are being taken. We are not currently charging for MathGenie and have no live payment system running. If you are ever asked to pay inside MathGenie today, it is not us — please stop and email contact@brainboot.co.in.

We may introduce a paid tier in future. If we do, we will say so clearly in the app before anything is charged, and the terms in section 6 will apply. Anything you can use for free today will not be taken away from you retrospectively without notice.

6. If we introduce paid features later

These terms will apply from the day a paid tier actually goes live, and not before:

We will never charge a card without showing you the amount first, and we will never use a payment screen that a child could complete on their own.

7. Your family's data

How we handle data is set out in full in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary:

MathGenie can listen to a spoken answer. That feature has its own section in the Privacy Policy and we would ask you to read it before letting your child use it.

8. Fair use

Please do not:

If an account is being used this way we may suspend it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.

9. Availability

MathGenie is built to keep working without internet once it has been opened — that is a deliberate design choice, because many of the families we build for do not have reliable connectivity.

Even so, we cannot promise the app or our servers will always be available. We may update, change or pause parts of the service, including for maintenance. We are not able to offer a guaranteed uptime.

10. Our content, and your child's work

The lessons, games, characters, artwork, text and code in MathGenie belong to BrainBoot Innovations. You may use them to teach your own children. You may not copy them into another product.

Your child's progress and anything they enter belongs to you, not to us. We use it only to run the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you — pricing, what we do with your data, or what you are allowed to do — we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Smaller corrections will simply appear here with a new date at the top. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using MathGenie and ask us to delete your data.

12. Ending your account

You can stop using MathGenie at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing contact@brainboot.co.in.

We may close an account that is being used in breach of section 8, or if we stop offering MathGenie altogether. If we stop offering it, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your child's progress first.

13. Our responsibility, in plain terms

We work hard to make MathGenie correct, safe and kind to children. But we provide it "as is": we cannot promise it will be free of every error, or that it will suit every child.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example lost time, or an outcome at school. Where we are liable, and where the law permits us to limit it, our total liability is capped at the amount you have actually paid us in the previous twelve months. Since MathGenie is currently free, that amount is presently nil.

Nothing here limits any right you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be limited, and nothing here excludes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

14. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Before anything formal, please just email us. Most things are a misunderstanding and we would rather fix it than argue about it.
