The BrainBoot Grid Method

Maths your child can SEE.

Your child sees every times table as a shape.

After a hall competition: where is your child? →

The train of 7each column starts 3 rows higher
Chanting tables isn't knowing tables.
Memorised today, forgotten by Monday
Fear of maths starts at 7
Speed drills before understanding break confidence.
The method

Ten is a column.

Add · the hop
Down the column, one ball at a time. At the foot: "column full — that is a ten." The carry teaches itself.
Times · the train
One train of four cars, ten stops, never back to the station. "Three fours are 12" — and 12 stays gold.
Share · which stop?
The same train, parked. "Which stop is this?" 28 is stop 7.
Take · the hop back
Up the column. Crossing the top borrows a ten — the same picture, run backwards.

The same table, again, as rows.

Width fixed at four, rows added one per stop. The running total on the left is the table; the fixed 4 on the right never changes.

Understanding first. Speed last.

Times · table of 4

Child: rides the train, hears every stop, taps whatever glows.
Parent sees: table 4 opened, 3 of 10 stops ridden.

Child: says the table forward, then backward. Untimed.
Parent sees: forward passed, backward 7 of 10.

Build the Wall
🔒 Ride the train and stack Times 4 first.
Child: four games on the field, unlocked by Learn and Practice.
Parent sees: games played today, minutes used.
4 · Reflex

4 × 7 = ?
Nearly — watch it once more.
✓ Check
Child: speed, only after untimed mastery. A miss replays the train slowly.
Parent sees: Reflex passed for table 4; effort noted, no rank.

No child ever races another child.

Schools

One field for the whole class.

  • A class view that shows counts only — never child against child.
  • The 20-minute governor. No chat, no ads.
  • Works on the school's existing tablets and on parents' phones at home.
Class 3B · table of 4 counts only
Opened table 431 of 34
Ridden all ten stops26 of 34
Recited forward and back19 of 34
Passed Reflex11 of 34

The world's first grid-native maths system — one 10×10 field that teaches tables, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as ONE connected picture.

Why this becomes inevitable

  1. 1
Every child already owns the model — ten fingers, opened into a hundred.
  2. 2
One picture carries all four operations.
  3. 3
The carry, the borrow and the ten are SEEN before they are named.
  4. 4
It runs on the phone the family already has, offline, twenty minutes a day, sound off.
  5. 5
Speed is the last gate, so it is the anxious child's method too.

What we have proved, and what we haven't.

The method is built on established learning science, and we can show you the paper. What we have not done is run the controlled trial that would let us say it beats chanting. That trial is designed and it is next. Until it reports, we will not claim it — and you should be wary of anyone who does.

Questions parents ask

What age is it for?
Children of 5 to 12. The Tables Package starts at counting; the ladder runs to Class 6 arithmetic.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the app has opened, everything learnt works with no internet.
Can we use it with the sound off?
Yes. Every spoken line is also a caption, and every move is shown on the field.
One phone, many children?
Up to four child profiles on one parent login, each with their own field and progress.
Can our school use it?
Yes — with a counts-only class view. It works on the school's own tablets and on parents' phones at home.
Are there ads or chat?
No. No ads, no chat and no data sold. A 20-minute daily limit is built in.
